You bring up a point we often hear from veterans and caregiver-family members--cutting through the red tape is challenging and getting to the right person to get the right answer is also a challenge we hear frequently.

You are correct. But, she was using herself as an example--as an advocate for other caregivers like herself, that any help would have been welcomed or to those who can use the benefit today or in the future, that too is appreciated.

The problem with the care-givers program is that it is extremely difficult to get through the VA red tape to obtain assistance. I can use myself as an example in that I can no longer bend over to put my under wear and clothes on and rarely get my socks on. I cannot stand for long periods which makes meals difficult to prepare. I can no longer reach down to pick up items that have fallen to the floor and with extreme difficultly can barely lift ten pounds. I cannot bathe myself for fear of falling or climb stairs. Yet I can feed myself and am not necessarily totally helpless to the degree that meets VA standards. I am not bed ridden or house bound to the point that I cannot walk for short distances. As such I don't meet the criteria because I can in fact feed myself,

Maybe I'm missing something, but, how does these rule changes help RyAnne Noss? She has been taking care of husband since 2007. He requires around the clock care. She is his caregiver. The benefits are only for 26 weeks. She's been taking care of him for over 4 years?

We the beneficiaries have been very poorly informed about this dispute. It's frustrating that Tricare seems to have totally distanced themselves from the dispute, and there's NO WAY I can find to express my concerns directly to them about their lack of oversight on the Express Scripts contractor. Those of us using Walgreens have picked them because they are convenient, have drive-thrus, and seem responsive to customers. If Tricare cares about those things, why haven't they advocated on our behalf?

Controlled drugs can not been faxed to Express Scripts. If your doctor will not write a new script until the day you put your Last pain patch on,you have no choice to use express scripts. Trying to get the doctors personnel to fax, create a problem. Mailing in scripts has always taken over two weeks. All doctors will not write them 2 or 3 weeks before your present script runs out.
